Be yourself

We are supposed to do things the way we are.

There is supposed to be a person–action fit.

But we are in a system where we have to manufacture what we are not.

So we will always render actions that are less than what we are.

But that’s not right.

We are born to be alive.

Greater than life.

Actions bigger than being.

So how can we accept the status quo of person–action fit?

I recently saw a guy speedrunning business.

And it hit me

If someone like me started doing that,

I’d have gotten more shit done.

Because that kind of thing is built into us.

Our path to goal should have all our quirks and whimsy

Or we are gonna deviate from it

Because of who we are.

I was raised on the internet.

On gaming.

On doom scrolling.

On binging videos.

Short loops.

Fast feedback.

Rapid switching.

High stimulus.

That’s me.

And the moment I want to do something real

The moment I want to build

I start thinking I have to do it their way.

It’s my own conceit

Like business must be formal.

Professional.

Serious.

Even though the guy selling vada pav outside the station

Is out-earning most corporate employees.

We internalize someone else’s method,

Then punish ourselves for not fitting it.

But why?

Why should I kill my wiring to do my dreaming?

Why must I edit myself to take action?

We make the action lesser than us.

We kill the person–action fit.

We act like who we are is the problem.

But it’s not.

You are not made to adapt to action.

Action is meant to emerge from you.

What I am is not the obstacle.

It’s the engine.

You doomscroll?

Good.

You game?

Good.

Understand the first principles of your behavior

Generate plans using those principles

And act out them out

Let the actions on the path of your dreams

Be what you do all the time

You’re not broken.

You’re not distracted.

You’re just using the wrong format.

Pick or create method most natural to you

And natural just means what you do all the time

Don’t chase your dreams like someone you’re not.

Chase your dreams in the way you are.

Stop trying to be someone else to do something great.

Be you, and do something only you could ever do.

Let yourself be.

And then?

Let yourself build in your own way.
